Living Room Redo

Our living room needs to be redone. Badly! You can read all about the problems and issues by clicking Living Room Makeover. If you read that post then you will know all of the little problems that we have, and if you have read that I am a chaotic crafter you will know that I am going to try my hardest to complete one room at a time. I will post on this page as I complete projects.

I went back and forth about what I wanted to do in here. There are so many different styles and colors that I have spent quite a bit of time being overwhelmed and just putting it off. I solved that problem when I came across some inspiration that is the basis of the whole room. You can read about that by clicking Living Room Inspiration

The first project that we will be working on is a re-vamping of a family heirloom piano that has been passed down to our lucky family. You can see the before picture below. You can read more about this project by clicking Piano Makeover.

Somewhere in the shuffle the piano bench got lost so instead of buying a new one I decided to recycle a broken chair from the kitchen to use as a replacement. You can read all about that by clicking Piano Chair. Here is the before and after.

I spent some time at my Mom's house and had to leave my project behind. I decided to complete some small crafts while I was here to put finishing touches on the living room when the big stuff is done. One of those projects is my own version of Martha Stewarts dipped candles that I learned about on Pinterest. You can read more about that by clicking Carr Candles. Here is my finished product.

Probably one of my favorite projects is my shelf. I spent quite a while on this project, it was actually started months before I decided to work on the living room and was one of the things that got shoved in my craft closet and forgotten for a while. The actual shelf spent so much time in my garage being stepped over I found myself walking around it even after it wasn't there anymore! You can read more about this project by clicking Family is Forever Shelf. Here is the before picture.

Another project for the living room was the coffee table. Someone from church was in need of help running a yard sale from her parents home who had passed away. I went to help and saw a little ugly duckling coffee table. I actually got it for free for helping out. All it took was a little elbow grease, some paint and a little leftover fabric to turn that table into a new family treasure! You can read all about it by clicking Coffee Table. I think this is one of my favorite pieces now. Here is a before and after picture.

While I am at my Mom's house I also did some Colored Vases. This project was inexpensive, but I think it will make a huge impact as a finishing touch. These are easy to customize to any color palette and pretty fun!

We are still working hard on the living room. There are so many more projects that need to take place! I will keep crafting, writing and taking pictures and keep you updated on the progress. I will make sure to post before and after pictures of everything!

Love,
Mary Gina Carr
